    Sound Stuff

    Hi,

I'm trying to find a small sound system type thing for solo, outdoor shows.

I'm looking for a small, preferably battery powered amp. A Fender amp can would be glorious.

As well I'm looking for a wireless mic and headset and stuff...

I know very little on the subject, so if anyone has any advice at all regarding what to buy and stuff (assuming nothing second hand comes up) that would be great.

I picked up a used Fender Amp Can from a buddy... I have nothing but good things to say.

I ususally work a 150 person crowd with vol set on 3 of 10 on the guitar side with no gain.

OI needed to make a public service anouncement last week( Lost child) and I was amazed at how loud and far it reached when I belted it.

I use a sure dynamic wired mike and it works well for me...

But then I do magic and comedy and don't need the freedom that say a juggler needs...

read that for the wireless mic. you will spend a little over $500 USD on the mic system.

I have a crate Limo, which is better than an amp can (IMO), but I don't think they make them anymore.

Fender amp can is great - be aware that the recharge cord will die within two weeks and need to be replaced, so you might as well buy one from Radio Shack or wherever as soon as you get the amp. We were in Feldkirch and everyone's amp was plugged in to charger and I saw no original cords at all

I started with Shure wireless lavs, moved to headsets that get in my way for fire-eating and switched to Countryman. Very expensive, but well worth it. I wish I'd gone with the Countryman's to begin with. I definitely found a headset or Countryman a much better option than a lav for street work - I need that strong pickup right by my mouth to reduce shouting.

I found the packs and receivers on ebay for US$279 each - if you have the mics, you can buy a guitar pack/receiver and it's cheaper than buying the whole mic kit.

There are a lot of mics, packs and receivers on ebay.
