    but they look so real

    Steven,
Come on mate ... you always seem to see things in the proper perspective ... but I can't agree on this one ... who gives a shit if it's a real chainsaw or not ... damn, if my wife's tits were fake I'd still stand erect ... so, come on!...they're sheep ... you know it ... I know it ... we all know it ... it's just a show, right?

PS. I can do 7 (reverse) but wouldn't even THINK of doing it in a show (I'd miss, that's why) ... and did it affect anything? ... hell, no ... never, (I repeat NEVER) overestimate your audience.

Tu vois ce que je vous dire?

      Robert,

Je vois, et je pige... mais...

There's a difference between CHOOSING to not do something and CHEATING because you can't do it for real. Whether it is knowing your limitations or because it doesn't "fit" in the show-- just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do something. For example, I CAN kick Gazzo in the balls, but I SHOULDN'T. Ok, bad example.

Chainsaw juggling is not hard, and if you're scared of it- hell, don't run the blade, then it's not dangerous either.

Yeah, most of the audience are sheep, who will believe what ever crap you tell them-- (like "these knives are real"). And for me, 90% of the show is for them-- but there's also that 10%, for the 10% of the audience who "gets it." That's the reward for me.

As far as overestimating the audience-- yeah I made that mistake in Milwaukee.

        Est-ce que je suis bęte?

        Steven,
Ever see Vince Bruce do the Bobby May trick (you know, the cig/match behind the back thing)?

He uses a straw attached to the match ... I made the mistake of calling it a "gimmick" once. He called it an "extension".

I was removed from his Christmas card list.

        Some people are so sensitive.

        Je suis idiot,
        Robert

P.S. You SHOULD kick Gazzo in the balls … we all should.

Charlie Frye also reveils the gimmick to Cinquevelli's (sp) most famous trick (pool ball balanced on a pool ball on a cue stick) in Juggle last month. I've been such a sucker.

Ok, I just took the engine out of my chainsaw...

Thanks for the support Butterfly Man. Seeing as I'm only a kid I think it's pretty impressive to juggle a chainsaw no matter what I did to the thing. And the chain is still on so it's no less dangerous than juggling the chainsaw with the motor really on and the chain not running!

chainsaw with or without the motor, no difference really, apart from the fact that it's easier. We all do things that the audience will percieve as dangerous, but most of the time they are actually not. Juggling fire, oooh that's so dangerous. not. jugggling knives, ooooh it must really dangerous. not. a chainsaw is just heavy, and that is the most difficult thing about it, so 10 points to the kid that thought to remove the engine.
May I suggest putting a battery powered motor in that has enough power to just turn the chain around for extra effect.
You should remove the teeth from the chain. People never notice that and it will do a lot less damge to you if you do happen to make a mistake.

the problem with a battery powered chainsaw, though a little lighter, is that it sounds like a dust buster, or an electric razor. To get the full effect of the noise and the motion of pulling the chord that starts the engine...a gas powered chainsaw is your best bet...in my opionion. Batter powered chainsaws are better for balancing and for setting on fire...
