but for french DVDs. Amazing that with a new wave of technology, europe and Americas still cant synchronize. I have a couple DVDs from france, that are useless here. I might be going back around december, but is there anywhere more local to get one? Maybe a little something that can play both US and EU?
Cheap external DVD player....

Computers with a dvd player can play your dvd, maybe if you can find someone with a burner and a lot of tech know how you can burn them. But, be warned, for some reason, puters (or at least mine) will only let you change the "locale" of the dvd player a few times before it locks up. -

As far as I know, it's not an issue of technology standards, it's an issue of copy-right law. DVD regions are enforced so that the movie mongols can keep some level of control over unlicensed "ripping" and black market distribution.
