    metamorphabilia

I am moving to a place with only one teeny closet.

But, I have quite a collection of old performer business cards (e.g. original Loco-Motion ), old street memorabilia from all over, some pretty vintage posters and a bunch of t-shirts from the early busking days … I also have some IJA relics that no one else could possibly own.

I know I am going to have to make a list and take pictures of the stuff but before I do is anybody interested in buying any of this stuff?

I really have no idea what to charge for any of it either …oh, I can tell this isn’t going to work …uh... never mind.

P.S. All proceeds donated to the Hawaii's Hiccup Circus & the IJA

    Its all in the......detail?

I'd be interested in any stuff you had BM, but yeah - some more idea of what it is, before offering my reserves, would be good.

Thanks for your interest but I think I'll just donate all of it to some worthy institution like the IJA.

Too bad there isn't a street performers museum.

I have seen "internet museums" where people photograph their collections and publish various journal scraps...

The pNet could use some new editions. Just a thought.

            a pack rat's pack rat

You guys would love to see some of the stuff I just dug up ... the original promo kit for Loco-Motion Circus (the guys who started it all) for e.q. ... also A. Whitney Brown's first promo kit ... man o' man a letter from Trevor Rooney vs. Alice Capper Starr written during the Wellington fiasco where Hoopal taped his "WANTED" poster on every telephone pole ... a letter from Art Jennings telling what he thought about IJA awards ... damn, I even found Nick Nickolas's 1st business card (it was the best one ever of all performers for all time)... I have so much cool stuff ... I hate to throw it away ... I swear to god I have a canceled "insufficient funds" check from Will Soto ...actually 2 of them... so who's the dummy?

              Longevity

Hows about you scan all that is scannable, and then sell T-shirts, mouse pads, coffee mugs, posters to the present and future performing community...

Golden memorabilia like this deserves to be sold more than just once.

                beam me up Scotty

                Hey Kim,
You're right, some of the stuff is scan-able but how’s about things like the rubber juggler badge (signifying you paid) from Sainté in '86... I swear the one I have is intact ... 100% ... I know, it’s unbelievable... but true.

P.S. If I remember correctly they took any part of the badge on the 2nd day … the result was that people intentionally ripped them up and gave pieces to their friends …

P.P.S. I’ll blow Gazzo if there is another one around … no, I won’t, but I might blow whoever kept another one of those damn things around for over 22 years.

                  Bounce dem checks

Hey B Man, was those checks from the time Will had every one come to Key West for the busker's fest with the promise of big pay, rooms and all etc... and no one got paid and there weren't no rooms! 'bout '86 or '87. HAHAHAHA I really had to laugh at that one.

                      and the winner is:

                      Jeep,
                      Yes, the 2 checks are from 86' & 87
For your interest, I will send you a check... unfortunately, it is only worth the laughter it created so many years ago.

                      and Gav,
I found the performer printout from the Auckland Commonweath Games where you say we met... apparently we did.

I just want your patchwork jean jacket that doesn't fit you anyway. Maybe in your will.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

that jacket belonged to a girl named Bonny who dropped acid with me in 1968 ... I heard she was a fixture at folk festivals for years before I met her... said she knew Dylan and all that...who knows?

Well, ever since I tried it on, I've been obsessed with making my own. It'll take years though and it won't feel as special to me.
Maybe some day we'll drop some Aspirin together, or reminisce about that time I was on a really low blood sugar trip and you let me eat your bread.
                            Good times.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.
