Samson Airline 77 wireless Headset for Sale

Bought it in Feb and it's been used once. I am now busking with someone who uses exactly the same one, set at the same frequency so unfortunately I need to get another with a different frequency.

Details are... Wireless Microphone Headset (no body pack - the transmittor is on the headset) and receiver on channel U1 (801.375 MHz).

Runs on 12V battery so is great to use outdoors for busking, or for performances that mean a pack will be in the way. I used it for a Hula Hoop gig. You can also plug it into a powerpoint if thats better for you.

Designed with dance or aerobic instructors in mind. Will stay on even when jumping around and copes well with moisture.

You can see a pic of the receiver (and headset on bottom R.H side). Also a pic of actual thing sitting on its box is attached.

I'm selling it for $650 NZD (neg). Please let me know if you are interested and we can see how it goes from there!!

I've wanted one of these models because I've got a Samson Expedition Express which has a built in input and battery supply for a wireless mic, but I've been told by Samson that this model's receiver won't run off the Expedition Express. The older Airline receiver does work with my amp, but I can't find anyone selling that model.

What amp have you been using it with and what has been your experience with it?

Did they give you a reason why ? Because if your amp runs off 12volt or gives out 12 volt then you could connect it to that receiver, it also runs off 12volts.

The reason is the milliamp rating of the 12V input. I currently have an AKG mic that is labeled 100mA at 12V AC/DC. This mic works fine off the built in inputs on the amp even though the mA may not be exactly right apparently it is close enough.

According to a technician at Samson the new Airline receiver won't work because the mA is not high enough from the Expedition Express. I have just looked at the instruction manual from the new Airline receiver which says that it takes DC12V, 1.9W(160mA)

Can anyone shed any more light on the mystery of milliamps?

The milliamp rate is how much power a certain device is drawing from the source(battery in this case)
I see no reason why they would limit the amperage on the 12volt output from the expedition. Maybe it's to stop you using it for a 12volt coffee machine and in turn draining your battery too quickly.
You can get around the problem. If you have a multimeter test to see that the voltage of the battery is in fact 12volts. If yes then it will most definately be some where around 7 to 12 amp hour battery in order to power the amp. Figure a way to attach wires to the positive and negative terminals and run them outside the amp some how. Connect a plug that fits the receiver power input.
Alternatively if you don't want to mess with the inside of your amp, just buy a small 1 or 2 amp hour 12 volt sealed lead acid battery for powering the receiver.

I've been using another identical to this headset, with the receiver running off a small 12v battery that tucks into its case. It's running through a Crate TX amp which works just fine.
