    motorhome for sale

    Anyone planning to tour Europe this year might want to consider owning a motorhome. Over the course of a season you get to see and do a lot more than the average busker, and you never have to worry about full hotels or squatting -- plus you save thousands every year just on lodging costs and being able to cook your own meals.

    Anyway, after 3 years living this way myself (and loving it) I'm offering my van for sale.

    What can I say? It's a really great van; more like a complete home. It has everything, including the kitchen sink and the shower. The 3 solar panels (700 bucks each) don't hurt, either.

    For the right price it will come FULLY equipped. In other words, if you don't try knocking me down on the price too much I will just hand you the keys and walk away.

    The van cost 6,000 Euro originally, and I've easily added that much again to the overall value (like with the solar panels, etc.). All six tires are new, has a good spare, and the brakes were rebuilt last August. The motor was rebuilt 3 or 4 years before I bought it, and it has less than 30,000 km on it even now. August was also the last inspection and it passed with flying colors.

    The only obvious defect is the spotty rust coming through the original paint job. I won't lie, it could use some new paint. Other than that, it's in perfect order.

    (You can probably tell by now that I really like this van.)

    Mercedes Benz Model 508D (5-ton diesel, German registration);
    7 meters long, 3-1/2 meters tall;
    Sleeps 3 adults and 3 children;
    Rebuilt motor (under 30,000 km);
    New tires and brakes;
    New starter batteries (takes 2);
    Plus MANY other new and expensive parts still under warranty;
    Full size shower;
    3-burner propane stove;
    3-way refridgerator (220v, 24v, propane);
    3 heating sources;
    3 solar panels (overkill);
    LOTS of extra storage;
    ETC., ETC., ETC......

    (In typical German fashion, the van comes with a folder containing proof of all repairs and warranties.)

    For the right price I will also toss in ALL of my carpentry and automotive tools -- worth 3,500 Euros if a penny.

    Asking €8,750 or best offer -- but offer too little and the tools and solar panels will be first to go.

    Available immediately.

    Where do you park?

    This sounds appealing to me - I'm taking a largeish group to Europe this year.

    Where, in Europe, do you park it? I'm assuming there are campgrounds, but in the States you can also get away with being in Wal-mart parking lots, and there are roadside areas called rest stops, too, where you can sometimes park overnight.

      that's pretty much the same for europe. no walmart though.
      you can always find a nice place by a park on the edge of a city to park up.
      Germany and Austria have masses of roadside stops off the autobahns, no problem to spend a night in them.
      Camp grounds everywhere.
