Hey rubber chicken, I'm pretty sure I'm interested, but the site for the vsm is a bit unclear as to what functions are actually on the transmitter, clarify, and I might buy

Dr. Eric - The Virtual Soundman allows you to control all the basic functions - play, pause, ff, rew, and volume up and down. The transmitter is not too big, small pager size and has a belt clip. All in all a great little unit. Is this helpful? Cheers.
