    Ireland/Scotland uni-hostels

This could apply to other countries as well but a fair amount of the summer season is uni-holidays. The hostels, some central, some not, are available cheaply and have all the amenities ie, your own kitchen (sometimes), cheap laundry, good security and most of them have bars on campus.

For example, there is a really nice accommodation in Auckland, NZ, where the old central train depot was converted into student rooms -- but they let them out during the summer as well. And I got a nice deal when I paid for 10 days in advance.

Other half runs a hostel with private rooms/dorm rooms etc in Dublin Ireland. Basic, but easy on the wallet. If your wandering through drop in and check it out. Performers discount, and strangly enough close to pitch, safe kit storage, etc.. Cobblestones, 29 Eustace St, Temple Bar, Dublin2. (Beside apache pizza)

Personally I don't find Dublin a great circle show pitch, but if you want to see the country I'll give ya the tour.
