Question about Hawaii

I am looking for a decent pitch to do face-painting in Sept-Oct this year, and I am curious about Hawaii. I've read some articles online about crackdowns on buskers there, and I wonder - what is the situation now? What would be the best place either for a lot of kids, or for college crowd (I do bodypainting also)? How is housing situation? Is it easy to rent a room? Thanks!
