    Busking in Cairns (queensland, Australia)

I'm planning on heading south east, towards my beloved home at the edge of the world over the coming weeks. I have been looking at maps and I if it's possible to work in Cairns, QLD I would like to make this my first destination.

Has anyone any info on this? Also, info on markets/pitches in the northern QLD area would be most welcome.

Haven't worked in that region since the mid 90's.
Back then the esplanade park in Cairns was workable, but dark and you had to draw people from across the street. It was pretty good though. A lot has changed since then, with a total re work of that area.
Port Douglas market was lucrative until the stall holders got jealous and the manager threatened to call the cops if I ever went back. I went back and drew 200 people out of his market into the public park adjacent too it. He was pissed off but there was nothing he could do about it !
There were other markets that were all workable but after a few weeks there, it always ended in the same scenario. There's a small pitch up in Kuranda opposite the markets there, maybe it's still workable.
Sorry I don't have any more up to date info for you.

Yes mate you can do it, basketball man was just up there, he said that was no problems. Think you have to get a permit but it's all chilled and easy. Also KUranda which is up the rainforest mountain is good and workable.
        Good luck mr SQuid
