    in front of movie theatres

9 out of 10 movie theatres are happy to have entertainers -either across the street of about 50 feet from the theatre box office,on the sidewalk. I've been asked to leave by only 3 theatre managers out of 80 or so, that I have played.

Most of them are happy to have patrons entertained who are waiting outside to get in. A captive audience- wether it's at a street corner waiting for the light to change; or waiting to get into a theatre is where the appreciation and the tips are, I have found.

there is never any reason to ask for permission before playing. If they like you they will leave you alone. I've had managers come up and thank me.

    REMEMBER the saying:

"It is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission!"

Not a bad idea at all! However, here in the Southwest most movie theaters are located inside shopping malls which adds an additional layer of "private property".
