Slovenia?

Hey everybody,

I am possibly hitting Slovenia this year, oddly enough doing a gig for the State department July 4th. anyone know what the laws, interesting events etc. might be around the first 2 weeks of July there?

Any info at all would be great!!

You shouldn't have any trouble busking in Ljubljana, and that's probably the only town worth trying. Very small population in Slovenia.

It's a retainer/busking situation which is well worth while doing. Has several days in Ljubljana, and then several more in Maribor that coincides with one of the biggest music festivals in the region. The down side is that the 2 festivals are in different places in the town and the street performance one tends to loose out.
Ljubljana rocks though, as long as it's scheduled right. Last year the performers were promised 2 shows a day and left to organize ourselves, which meant that one of the performers(me) had to act as organizer, and in the end it wasn't possible to do 2 shows per day because there was too many performers and not enough spaces.

Also, I just recalled i was supposed to give you some ideas to other festivals in Europe and I never got round to it. Sorry about that, I've not been very focused lately. Still, most of the info I would have come up with is in a thread that Rachel started called something like 'list of europe' .
