Granada is a really nice place to visit. I've even thought above moving there to live. But right now it's turning cold there and not the best time to try and work the street. Tourism will be way down.
Keep in mind that Granada is high up in the mountains and even though it's in the southern regions of Spain, that won't matter due to the elevation. I've driven through snow storms in those very mountains in April.
But look on a map for Granada and then look due south at the highway leading out of there to the coast. The entire coastline from that point to the west is very touristic and is filing up right now for the winter season. Lot's of Brits and Germans use that coastline as their winter hangout, and even the Germans speak English.
Many buskers follow suit. Get down that way and it shouldn't be too hard to get with some locals and learn the ropes.
I am pleased to see that you say Malaga "looks great." I was only there at night, and it looked like a dump to me, but I heard there are busking possibilities on the walking street there.
Could you please follow up and let us know how it actually went if you ended up trying Malaga? Any hassles from police, decent crowds etc.?
I was in a small Costa Del Sol town in mid November 2009 and after a decent show in the town center, when I had finished packing up, two police officers took me into custody and to the police station because they had received a call about me juggling fire that "was too close to children." This was not true, but the officers were not there while the show was going on. They said someone had called them really angry and demanding that they stop my show, but they arrived when my show was finished.
After rigorously checking my passport (I had to wait while a friend fetched it for me) to make sure I was not in Spain illegally, and taking my name and information, they let me go but said I must not do fire juggling there anymore.
I'd love to hear about other Spain pitches and possibilities, because November weather on the Costa del Sol (near Malaga) is lovely for shows.
