    So Cal pitches?

Hey, I am working at a fair in LA - and I have a week to kill after it - are there any easy-to-get-a permit or free pitches in Southern California where they do allow body-art? (I would go to Santa Monica, but they kicked out all the face-painters and henna artist after the 'black henna" scandal). What's happening in Santa Barbara, San Diego, any other beaches within 2 hours from LA? I heardthat you do need a permit on Venice Beach now - is it true?

you technically do - but I know plenty of people that have done it without one and not had a problem

Thanks! I found a recent SO Cal thread - so I got the info. I'll just pay 25$ for a permit - I can use it all year, so if it is good for me, I'll be back next summer.
