    Amsterdam residency wanted

Hi, this is Irina, New Orleans face-painter, www.face-painter.com
I went to Amsterdam last year, it was way too cold to work in November, but I fall in love with "I AMsterdam", and I want to come back in September for a month - and more, and I am looking for a local street performer/artist to negotiate a residency deal. I need a couch to crash and/or local residency application sponsor - name your price. It does not have to come together, I have friends to stay with, but they are already in gay house-partnerships, so I search for local M/F who's single and has Amsterdam flat-lease, and is either Dutch or Euro-Union citizen, residing in Amsterdam. The beauty of Amsterdam residency is - you do not need to be married and you can be any gender, as long as you file as 'live -together partnership", this is the most liberal place in the world!!! - but it is very burocratic...so to get right to work you have to file one of these 'partnerships" with a local...that's what I am looking for!! Peace-Love-Mardi Gras, Irina

What do you mean by "residency"? If you're only there for a month why would you have to go through a residency requirement?

From what I heard about busking in Amsterdam - they do check your 'residency" - 'propiska", if you speak Russian, and I do want to work there as often as possible, I really love the city...If anybody can clarify this issue for me - I would appriciate it! It is such a laid-back place, I can't believe that cops really check everybody's passport and papers...but I was there in late November, so i did not try to work at all...
