    The Big Easy...

Here it is, Christmas Eve and I spent a couple of hours walking around the french quarter wishing I had brought my props!!! People everywhere and only a couple of people out working.

I saw Valentino setting up at the Big Pitch. Basketball Man was on a corner. a couple of statues (guy on ladder and a silver cowboy) Quite a few musician out and about and a guy in santa outfit contact juggling.

    Merry Christmas!!!

      busking at Jackson Square

I was in the French Quarter on December 27 for the first time. After doing the typical tourist walk around in the morning and getting the powdered donut things at Cafe du Mond and then gumbo for lunch on restaurant balcony, I busked for a half an hour in the afternoon on the side road by the park until I made enough money to buy an alligator head. The money that was left over I dropped in the bucket of the robot living statue who I thought was pretty good.

In the morning I saw Mike and his dog Mojo who helped me out with some suggestions on where to busk. I also talked with a magician named Doug who was busking in front of the cathedral. He said he is a full time busker and spends a lot of time in New Orleans. My extended family watched his show twice because they enjoyed it so much.

All in all it was a good day. The people were friendly, the "pros" were accommodating, and the weather was great as well.
