my advice is try and only work this town in an emergency.
this is not a big money pitch.
down town there is a plaza with an out door stage.
theres a big fountain in the middle of the plaza with aligators on it.
your free to work in the plaza w/no permit.
this a dream pitch as far as how the plaza and the stage is set up, in fact i wish every pitch was like this.
the problem is your working for poor mexican tourists that come across the border a few blocks away.
they come for the dollar stores and whole sale shops that pepper el paso.
you can busk mercados if you ask permission and even some of the big indoor malls.
you really have to push the hat at the end of your show literally walk the edge w/your hat one of the locals taught me this.
and don't forget to hat the people sitting way in the back under the trees.
i have also worked the sidewalks with small sidewalk shows.
this a tuff town they even tip pesos now and again.
