yeh i met him london a couple of years ago. he's an amazing performer.

i just saw him recently down here in san diego and suggested he go to monterey....woops!

when he was here in san diego he saw how miserable it is and i didn't even see him bother getting a show together. i was disapointed because theres no real pros down here.

if you've travelled around working and seen how good street performing can be and then you come to california it is really devistating to the moral.

hahaha.... bruce was actually staying with me in LA when he came down to san deigo.

he was telling me how awful it was.... and I agree - compared to the rest of the world the shows here just completely suck - but it still is better than not doing anything.

although I've only done shows in canada so far. havent ventured to perform in europe, new zealand, or aussie yet.... but hopefully one day.

I actually had met bruce a few months previous in Saskatoon and we travelled together for about 2 months checking out different pitches all over the place. It was AMAZING.

right after bruce went to san diego he went to las vegas and I guess there were a few spots there that would have been GOLD mines if the cops werent such scrooges.... some people just don't like letting a group of people gather together for no reason and laughing, smiling, and having fun... they would rather have gang fights maybe?

it's the south west state of mind...it really is "evil" and i don't throw that word around.

the only reason i'm here is for my kids.

in the season i work on the east coast and i do well.

i do work here every day in san diego usually through the holliday months.

i work every day because i love what i do not because this is a good place to work or live,

            because it's neither.

bruce is a much better performer then me, but when bruce saw me trying to work he remembered the crowds and the shows i pulled off in europe ,

            he knew,

it was obvious this place was bad.

alot of things offend californians but the top 2 must be

            - smokers

            and

            - poor people who have figured out away to make money and survive with out regulations....they just hate that! and they know it must be stopped before others try!

it must be stopped or culture could seep in.

well there i go talking alot again.

I never thought about it like that before, Jimmy... but I think you might be on to a very true thing there. Californians *do* seem to hate that. Scary, actually.

i have never posted on here before so i hope this works. i was at the entrance area to the pier and thats where the police shut me down. the police explained to me who owned that piece of land and explained that i was not therefore permitted to perform there. that was the story i got all the way down the west coast of america. the next day i went back to the area for a look around and the same two police were on patrol. they walked the whole length of the pier. now if i was performing on the pier and not at the entrance it may have been a whole different story. that i don't know about. hope this helps.
