Hey All,
I'm checking into doing some work in Sarasota, FL. Gotta go on vacation with the in-laws and I'm looking for the opportunity to get away, and enjoy new surroundings.
I've e-mailed some business district folks there (possibility) and did a search here for info. Unfortunatley, the last mentions of work in this area are 4 years old (at least the ones I found). Does anyone have updated info about performing in this area? I appreciate any assistance.

Sarasota is ultra-conservative. If busking, I would definitely check out the laws first. They have a nasty habit of giving one-way rides to the city line...and that's on a good day.

I did get a fairly positive reponse from one of the business district groups there. If it becomes viable I will pass on the contact info, maybe this will open up at least parts of the city.

I have a letter from the Sarasota city attorney- saying that there are no rules against busking in the city- as long a you don't impede pedestrian traffic flow. I'll look for the letter and post it when I find it.

downtown near the Gator Club. There is also a city park near the Marina. St. Armands Cirlce (scoop daddy's) allowed me to perform outside their store. Siesta Key village is a possibility.
