    Busking in Aussie???

Does anyone know the laws on busking in Aussie? I know it's pretty strict in NSW, but wondering (and hoping) it's not so bad elsewhere, such as Brisbane and Adelaide??

Sydney isn't that bad, there's a system, but it's not such a tough one. Lot's of oppertunity.
Brisbane is by far worse with limited permits and not such good pitches, and Adelaide is better law wise but not so good possibility wise.
Melbourne has more permits these days, you'll find another thread about that somewhere on this forum.
    W.A is 50-50
Perth has a permit system with restrictions but fewer regular performers
Fremantle has no restriction or permits but a lot more acts sharing limited pitches.

I haven't worked there for a while but believe this to still be the case.

      Thank you

Thanks for the information...one more question for you. Is it necessary to have a work visa to get a busking permit in all the cities where a busking permit is necessary? Cheers.

a work visa and public liability is needed for a permit to work darling harbour in sydney, not any where else in the city though. however, sydney this last summer and ever since has been the worse in some time. everyones hats have been way down, fewer tourists and the locals just dont seem to be interested at the moment.
