COSTA RICA - Street Performing ???

I do statue work and robotics. (for 6 years now). I'm going to visit a friend in San Jose, Costa Rica for 10 days in April. Did a google search and I read about a spot called Plaza De la Cultura which apparently attracts local street performers. But I could'nt find any other information aside from that. Does anyone know anything about this spot. ?
is there money to be made there? an audience there? need a permit? local performers friendly?

any suggestions on how to find further info.....

    thanks

    San Jose

Try the historic Morazan Park, or outside museums, the National Theater restaurants, and banks.
Cultural Plaza, Paseo Colon, Artisan market,
There are several Casinos in San Jose you might try them for walkaround, closeup entertainment.

Also the local TV channels have locally produced Variety Shows.
Try something new outside the street box that pays upfront!

I lived in San Jose in the late 80's, and La Plaza was a great place for performers, vendors, hustlers & beggars of all stripes.

      Buena suerte!
