Hi! I'm visiting europe this summer and wanted to ask about cities to perform in that understand english...my show involves a great deal of vocal comedy/misdirection and would only work in such cities that the street audiance understood english. Any thoughts would be helpful!

Holland and Sweden are countries where most people learn English. and of course there's always England Scotland, Ireland and Waleswhere the same holds true! -
Question
Would it be possible to do both? I mean, speak english and at the same time use sign language/gestures/facial expressions and suchlike? Maybe Iīm wrong, but it seems to me comedy isnīt only vocal. Or simplify the vocal to keywords or something. Would appreciate your reply.Comment

Yes live comedy is always more than just vocal...but if you watch a comic do standup but cann't follow the logic of his words you miss a great deal and feel out of the loop while others are laughing.Comment

stick to the north
Generally speaking, the northen countries speak more english. If you really rely on speaking that much, then it's best to avoid Spain, Italy, France, Greece. Stick to major cities in Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Denmark. Forget about going anywhere in Eastern europe, even though english is becoming the second language of choice it's still not widely spoken.
Of course if it's in a tourist area then most people will probably understand you.Comment
