What are the auditions dates for Baltimore Waterfront this year and what do they require for auditions? Does anybody know the # or e-mail to contact their street performers coordinator? I tried contacting them via web-site with no luck. Thanks, irina

Dates
Annual Street Performers Auditions: Harborplace, Saturday, April 16th at 1 PM
Contact: Melba Bradley, 410 332 4462, melba.bradley@generalgrowth.com
I haven't performed there in years but I happened to have the February "Antics" newsletter handy. -
Ok, I'm on the audition lineup for the day. I get 15 min, and I don't recognize any of the names on the audition list.
So....
Do the current people on their list get to stay on without auditioning?
Is it hard to get into even if you have a strong show?
anything they like or don't like?Comment

best of luck
In my (dated) experience:
I got in my first year by sending a video. I pretty much learned do street on that pitch.
I haven't auditioned since.
Family show and fire and knives are allowed as far as I know.
Sounds like it wouldn't hurt to call Melba for the definitive answers to your questions. Then you can audition with confidence.Comment

Last Year's Audition
I auditioned last year, and it wasn't anything to rigorous. It was actually my first time performing on the street.
Most of the people to audition were musicians, only a few Variety Performers were there. If you have a strong show you'll be fine. Actually because of the audition I scored 5 or so paying gigs at other large events in the Baltimore Area.
The one thing you might want to watch for is they have a PA system with a stand-up mic. It's ok, but I recommend bringing your own PA if you have one, or at least your own mic to plug into their system.
Oh! Even though it's an audition you can still collect tips.
Any questions let me know...
