Hi, AJ!
We have been toying with the idea of bimbling down in my Transit. It's 99% liveable in, now... though you wouldn't know, as I haven't been up to see you guys yet! Balloons are indeed multi-ligual.. My Spanish is extremely rusty..and I DO have some passable German... [I used to speak Esperanto like a native!]
Just had a look on the AA routeplaner, and its about 325 km / 200 miles from here to Portsmouth..[where we can get a shower at my sister's]... then 800 miles/1300 km from Cherbourg to Barcelona.. I HAVE emailed you, and hope to catch up with you this week!
Rob has been put through his paces with some BALLOON PLATOON training, and does a good street show juggling/uni.... So with your act, we'd have something for most settings...
Anybody else likely to be down that way in Jan/Feb next year??.... Lettuce Snow!!
Also.. we will need somewhere secure / friendly to base the van/s.... [expat Brits.. or Brit friendly folk??]Last edited by grOmmet; Oct-03-2004, 04:42 AM.Comment

In Spain in January you have the lovely decision to make between sun or cash im afraid . The money is in the North , where all the rain is . The Spanish cities in the South can be good , but you have too be good also to get the cash off the oeople , big circle shows at the weekends , hiding out during the week . The North is full of small squares which when it is not raining are full of people , children from about 6pm until about 8pm-10pm(at weekends). In the North is where all the biggest and best fiestas are held , so even the smallest villages are well used to passing showpeople .I must tell you that in spain , are working many South Americans dressed up in full mickey mouse costume , or donald duck costumes , making baloons , the gypsies sell all the helium baloons .Cities like Granada , Seville , cadiz , Jaen are pretty hammered baloon wise but good for shows. We spent Winter in the North last winter and spring in the south and made much more money and had a much more easier life in the north , hmmm but when the sun is shining aaand life slows down with lots of lazy days in the countryside , the south can be good as wellComment
