Question time (Latin America and USA)

A friend of mine has this plan of travelling and performing throughout the Americas this autumn/winter. From Mar de Plata in Argentina northward, basically. Has any of you been there? What are your experiences? Any useful information welcome and appreciated surely. Thanks

    Donde esta el bano?

Get the latest Lonely Planet travel guide at your local bookstore. I travelled thru latin america in the 80's, and it saved me money and my ass.

Tourist towns like San Jose Costa Rica, Antigua Guatemala and Mexico City can be receptive, but watch your back in other countries. South America is extremely oppressive - this where the nazis went to retire - and the economies are usually unstable.

If you're travelling by car, do not drive anywhere at night. Public mass transportation is safer. When you're crossing a border, be prepared to bribe every official you meet, or you may never get across. If you're a woman, vaya con dios.

    Buena suerte.
