Anyone know about doing street shows in the windy city? I'll be there for a few days in June and was hoping to do some shows if possible. I know they always have some kind of Busker Festival but am wondering if it's workable other times.

I was there for the Busker Festival last year and talked to several of the local people.

If I remember right, they have a permit system and if you get a permit this year and then don't come back for several years, you have to pay for the years in-between when you get your next one. MIght be true, might not be true, but that's they way it was explained to me. So, it's worth looking into.

The hats last summer were decent, and the crowds seemed to want to play along.

You might want to check in with the people at the Busker FEst to find out more about what can and can't be done.
