Firegirl,

The beaches of Clearwater Beach are among the worlds best, but unfortunately for us buskers the Pier 60 pitch... isn't. Expect smallish crowds and hats, and VERY anal-retentive pier management. (For example, they didn't want me using the word "neuter".)

But, the beaches are great!! And it could be the best spot in Florida to view the sunset. No kidding.

Not too far away is Ybor City, the old Cuban section of Tampa, and one of my favorite places in Florida. On weekends they block off the main drag to cars, and you can pretty much do anything you like. (This was a while ago, there could be regs in place by now -- but worth the effort even if.)

And there is a new shopping center in Ybor, right on the main drag, that has requested acts from performers.net to audition there. I forget the name of the place, but it is big, new, on the main street and co-owned by Steven Spielberg; can't be too many to pick from.

And when you get tired of Cuban food (is this possible?), you can always visit Clearwater Beach. Great beaches, but I'll bet you already knew that.

PM if you need more info.

What kind of money can you expect? Well, the beaches and sunsets are great!

Seriously, though, how can I say never having seen your show? All I can tell you is that on my list of 50 favorite places to play in the US, Pier 60 is #71. And that, after being the anchor (biggest, best-monied act) there for 2 years.

But, as they say, opinions are like a** holes: Everyone has them, and they all stink. Have a blast, and be careful of the creeping sand. The stuff gets EVERYWHERE and on EVERYTHING. You CAN believe THAT!!!!!

As many of you know, for several years, we have been battling the bands here at Pier 60 in Clearwater, Fl.
What once was an "open" pitch in the begining years of the festival had been reduced to 3 workable "pitches". Well finally after serious negotiations, the Board of Directors has agreed to let us go "back to the roots" for two nights a week starting in July 1st.
That's right!! Busker Nights will be Wed. and Thurs. nights starting in July. Hopefully this will attract more performers to us and with any luck, the "powers that be" will consider this permanently.

Currently we have one pitch "open" for the summer here. I am actively seeking performers to fill the spot.
Many changes have occured at our event to make this more PERFORMER FRIENDLY !!!

You can send any promotional material to me at:
Dallas Saupe
1295 Santa Rosa St. #5
Clearwater, Florida 33756

Because of the bands, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we are limited to three pitches.

NOTE: Entertainment involving "danger props" are required to provide proof of insurance.
