    Church Street, Vermont?

Anyone ever done anything in Vermont? I've seen one or two people on Church street, a pedestrain only street. I was wondering what it's like if anyone's ever been there (drunks, noise, space, law) I suppose going and trying would be best. Whatever,

    Eric,
I think that you should do it. I have worked there twice. The first time it rained but there were definately enough people for a show. The second time I had a show and then it started raining. Last night I went to go there and I rear ended a car. So I dont know if you want to go there or not. But you can get off a show.

Does Church Street have any permit requirements?

I think they do but they are easy to get.

ok, I know there are some performers there, who are they? what's the deal with the permit.
I have to go back east this month and I'm gonna need some SP $ to keep me going during foodplay rehersals.
I sent my girlfriend to investigate but it rained.

they do require a permit and background check. the fee is only like $25.00 ( a few years ago). When i was there, there were no circle shows, only musicians.

                  It is a beautiful place!!

                  good luck

                    Hey, guys ---

I'm just leaving Burlington after a very successful week. The permits are available for $5/day from the mall office at 2 Church Street (upstairs). After they have done a credit check on you (!!), which takes a couple of weeks, they offer you an annual licence for $25. The rules are somewhiat complex. Among other things you have to move every hour. But the pitch is great for a musician and small circle shows such as I do. There is one large circle show pitch which is occupied a couple of days a week by a slack rope walker who has negotiated a suspension of the 1-hour rule (he's a local -- does a standard show with all the standard jokes and hat lines. He is a good juggler and balancer, though. His name is Sam).

This is a BEAUTIFUL place. There are dog parks. Folks are friendly. Lots of tourists and students.

I'm at the library and running out of time, so I'll end with this: you can't go wrong on Burlingtong.

                    Best Regards,
                    Peter

Sweet pitch and very cool student/touristy town, nice lake beaches, lots of live music and cute shops! 25$ a year for Church Street buskers' permit, but first 5 days you have to pay them 5$ a day and the management kinda keeps an eye on you... You can audition over the Net if you have a web-site. Rotation every hour, but you can just move 20 feet away...I loved Festival of Fools - 2d weekend of august, it was their second year, if you have a circle show - you have to contact them in advance, clowns can get in on a short notice. Very easy to get housing in summer - just post an ad on craigslist, you'll get like 20 replies - it's renters market in summer as students are gone. I got a room for 2 weeks in 5 blocks from Church st for 300$ the next day after posting, and I am sure I could find a cheaper deal, if I knew how low the rents are...I had great time there and will definitely come back if I have a week or two between gigs - but I would not sit there longer, money is not spectacular...just enough to get by...

                            Dear Irina,

I used to work there. Good luck to you.
