I understand where all you guys are coming from. Windsor was the city I started out in and have worked with Bill and Wayne on several festivals.

I'm sorry you guys had such terrible experiences in Windsor. The city is facing a lot of cultural support issues and that has to change. I did the fringe/busker fest the first year it was a joint event... and never again.

"xxxx" (as she is named) I will never work for again and I almost had to go to collections on her. That is fact! I would say more, but I don't think its a good idea to have it in writing online.

Hopefully, one day, someone competent will be in charge and the festival can become great again!

          Quick update-
We still have not been paid for the work that we did despite messages from XXXX saying that the payment was on the way.
Just another nail in the coffin.
          Gwyd

Edit: Update- She sent payment mere minutes after I posted this. Apparently she reads this forum! I finally feel like I can put the whole thing behind me!

Just got a heads up from XXXX that everything posted here was shared with Windsor Buskerfest at a "conference of all of the busker festivals".
I can't even imagine how that conversation went.
Conference attendee "You do know that the performers you had in 2011 were unhappy with the fest, right?"
Windsor "Really? I have no idea why...I thought everything was fine when they all left..."

Any time that a performer has to pay to rent a towel, there is something amiss.

              Comical epilogue:

I was told by people I trust implicitly that "at this meeting of all the festivals" the producer of Windsor sat mute, not saying a word when asked what the performers thought of her festival...

It is interesting to note that this years event has been reduced to a musical act, a magician Keith Brown (only doing one Show), an animal show (not a show but an educational show & tell) and Second City (not sure if they are connected to The Second City in Toronto).

Keith Fields is prominantly displayed but yet seems to be absent from the schedule.

Up until last night, last year's roster was still pictured (Wayne Tellier, Guy Collins and Knotty Bits). The schedule for this year wasn't up until the last minute as it was (even though it was advertised on the site to be available on the Monday before

And to top it off, the local media has been contacting local performers asking about this forum thread.

Not sure what the future holds for the Windsor Busker Festival but hoping for something akin to the old days.

All I heard was that with the heat, it was put indoors at the amouries downtown. Not sure how that would work with building an edge (I assume pretty difficult to catch passerby's attention).
