    Kingston Buskers Festival 2006

I've been reading quite a few unfavorable reviews from performers who have done the kingston buskers festival from a few years ago. What I would like to know is, has it gotten any better since then? My group will be performing there this year and i'd like to know if there's anything we should be aware of.

    Thanks

Kingston hmmm? It was kool., we made good money.
Our dorm room accommodations at St. Lawrence College each had private bath rooms and a frig, no T.V. I went to the Salvation army and purchased a small color television for $8.00 and gave it away to one of the sound teks at the end of the festival, He was a kool cat so I gave him the television as an award, a little token of my appreciation.

I'm also sending him one of our hottest dvd's entitled,

"Big booty bitches get di**'d down volume 6".

Anway we have no complaints the festival seemed a little shaky in the beginning but at the end after counting the profits taking home two awards, The peoples choice and Best all around performance, eating some great food at the rap up party and getting wasted with Jan and her partners from the City of Kingston, Oka, Squid and my new friends from the percussion group "Off beat".
Oh can't forget the high light of it all jumping in lake Ontario following the rap up party at about 3:00 or 4oam.

I have to be honest and say for us it was a good one, we made some good change and had lots of fun.

This is my second time trying to post for this, hopefully only goes through.

Kingston was a fun festival. It was our first time doing this festival and we had a bad first impression there after the first day. If you do this festival be sure to bring your own sound and power. After the first day though the festival got good for us. The crowds were good, even the small crowds paid very well.

The rooms were great. they were far away from downtown but it was worth it to have our own rooms, bathrooms and showers. The organizers provided beer for everyone each night which was always good. Be sure to get all the beer you want for the night before 1am though cause then they close off the kitchen.

The media there was very supportive, both tv and radio media covered lots of the acts at the festival. When we first got our hats we didn't think they were too great but once we counted them we were happy with the results.

They should have started the festival later in the day and let you go later into the evening. The night crowds there were fantastic and very profitable.

All in all it was good for us. We made good money and had a lot of fun doing so. Hopefully this year we started a tradition of jumping into lake ontario after the wrap-up party.
