    Hey Peter,
I just flew back to La La from AKL an hour ago... straight from the Juggler's Rest (ahhhh) in Picton to here (sob) ... Although I saw only the last 4 days @ CHCH it was (as Al sez) a "wicked" time ... from an observational viewpoint I guess the most impressive act per sey was (as Al said) Hotnuts & Popcorn (Derek & Eric) ... unbelievable staying power as night after night mc’s of the raging nighttime shows @ the Dux ... my personal fav of the fest had to go to PeeWee & Em of Stickleback Plasticus ... I just could watch them over and over and over again (whew talk about “character” !) ... I must say the new act, Bound to Bounce was my close personal second, if only because their material was so fresh, original and innovative ... I watched almost every act have a killer show at one time or another (Stretch losing a chair one eve) (El Gleno with a bucking volunteer) (Maike aka Venus twirling her diabolo of delight) but the most powerful moment to me was watching Strawberry (Fraser Hooper) transporting his audience to an ecstatic state of joy and wonderment without uttering a single syllable ... the boy is a clown god (nuff said) ... Like Al, I too got to meet some old friends (Nickyboy) and make some new ones (Lady Margo) ... and all of us (performers/audience/organizer or whatnot) hail to the great Dino Lampa ... an inspiration to us all ...

Sounds great, how was the "Wonderbar" and did any-one do shows there?
