    Using Loopers on the Street

Getting my act up to travel next year.....I want to use a Digitec Jamman for busking, I've been told they are hard to power by batterys. I would also like to have a mic. Maybe better to buy another looper?

I really need a small system as I will be travelling with two Saxophones.

What have others used and what's my options gear wise.

    Small is beautiful, IMHO

    Cheers & Ciao

My friend Onyx Ashanti does a lot of looping stuff with a MIDI Flute, Fruity Loops, and a laptop in the streets, I'll ask him what he uses for power.

Thanks for the info DR Eric & Onyx Ashanti....I'm certainly not a geek, although I try to be!

I presume the above mentioned models are battery powered, & the laptop has it's own power....advice on small amps please..

Came across the Korg Kaosilater...an awesome little bit of kit....I need to get the looper running sweet before I add anymore tec though!

aah, looping. such an awesome mode of expression. what i'v heard : roland rc 50 great for a hardware looper as long as you dont have any delusions about syncing it with software afterwards, they say it can be done but everyone i know who has one says otherwise.

          thats all i can offer

there is a looping forum however loopersdelight.com. they should be able to answer all your questions

          have fun!
          Devin.

            loopy

i've used the Roland RC-20 for a couple of years now and love it. simple, durable, small, affordable and battery powered. plus it has two separate 1/4 inch inputs, each with their own volume control and a lot of other great features.

haven't played with an RC-50 yet, but it looks pretty awesome.

I use an RC-20 on the street - battery powered, 6 x AA batteries... I get about 10 shows (10 minutes play time per show) before I get nervous and change the batteries (rechargables).

I also use an RC-50 for solo music shows... have it built as part of a pedal board and only use it with full AC power.
http://www.kimpotter.co.nz/music/video.htm ("cold since June", "Metronome" and 2nd "Airplane eyes" clips)

Also, check out "Whoisjonnywright", "Dub FX" and "Adam Page"... they all use the RC-50 in pretty groovy ways.
