    Permits?

    Hi!

I am new to busking and will be traveling around the US hoping to do a lot of performing. Could anyone shed some light on the permit situation and any websites I could check out while traveling to find out detailed information? Also, does anyone know of cities and towns where specifically no permits are required? We will be starting in Oregon, Washington, Vancouver (Canada), and across the northern part of the US, finally over to New York.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Busking permits in Eastern Pennsylvania

In Lancaster, Pennsylvania, there are days that you are allowed to busk by permission of the mayor's office - specifically on the First and Third Fridays of the month at the city's celebrations in the afternoons and evenings, and each Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday in the area of Central Market (center of town) during Market hours.

Other towns around Lancaster such as Columbia and Lititz also welcome buskers at certain events. Lititz has a Second Friday celebration and a Saturday market. Columbia has a Fourth Friday celebration and a Saturday market.

It depends on the individual policeman whether or not you would be allowed to busk at other times. Hope this is helpful when you make this far east.

Thanks very much! We're doing three weeks of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Festival in that are, and it would be nice to pick up some extra shows.
