Are there any tips to gathering/performing in this sort of hot weather past "Wait til sundown?"

someone told me that drinking orange juice helps reduce sweating, but I haven't tried it yet.
don't artificially push the audience to clap any more than normal, cuz they won't... they are hot
good tricks work better than comedy in the heat... A shorter show of better tricks that are closer together will get more money in heat, where a comedy show in the same spot on a cooler day might do way better.
bring a cooler of ice cold water. freeze your water bottles. have a cold wet hand towel in the cooler and put it on the back of your neck if you get too hot and need to cool down fast.
wear sun screen
wear under armor
do your best to let the audience sit/stand in the shade
do your best to stay positive and avoid looking like you are hot and miserable -

yeah, this early summer has had the lowest temps I can remember in my 4 years in PA/MD.
heh, my first summer in Boulder (2002) I arrived the first week of June to be greeted with a snowstorm.Comment

I just did a gig where it was in the mid' 80's the first few days and then pushing 100 the last two...today I go to Kansas for a week and it is 100 every day....it looks like Boston is the rainy state this year so far...not sure of the rest of the country.
but it is indeed hot out there and Evan gave some good advice...

Ugh. I'm in Phoenix. Going to go out on friday, and jeezuz balls. Looks like it'll be 100^ until at least midnight.
I had my best hat ever last month, but dang. I'm seriously concerned about diet, water, etc. this month.
Maybe even bringing a fan and misters to point at my tip.Comment
