halftime or pregame shows at basketball

Hey everyone...just been scouted to go on tour with a well known American basketball team performing 1/2hr pregame and halftime shows. If anyone has any experience with this kind of work IŽd like to hear from you. A man is in my ear about the money and I dont want to rip myself off or get myself some really shitty gig.
Love to hear from anyone with any experience in this field.
    email me on mrsillee@hotmail.com
cheers in advance and a great big thanks to all the amazing people I met on tour in Nth America this year
    Yours
Lee .... currently in the sun in Mexico

What little experience I have tells me it usually takes longer than what
I am told, or what I plan on.

Good Luck, and PLEASE keep us posted!

I did a pregame show for the NFL at an exhibition game in Tokyo on August 1. I and other performers were used simply to provide some distraction during otherwise dead time before the game. Wew mostly got ignmored or had some small interest by the fans. Maybe not a good analogy for what you are going to do.

Frack and I have done pre-game shows for the Cincinnati arena football team, but it was more in a "tailgate party" atmosphere outside of the arena.

Also, for what it's worth, check out: Steven Ragatz half time shows

I've done a few shows with NBA, WNBA and college teams. The format is short (five minutes) and the atmosphere is predictable - most people are getting drinks and dogs while you do your act. I found the venue a bit tough for juggling as the lights and size of the arena change one's perspective, and certain things may not be appropriate because of the court floor, but if you can practice a couple of times in the space, it's not a big problem.

The big screen TVs can also throw you if you're not prepared for them, so try not to watch yourself during the show!
