Getting out of the street with 1 hour show

Well, I noticed that so far I can make a good living (during the summer) working only on the street, but I have a real job as well, a 40 hours-week job in a clothing store to survive during the winter.

I'm only on that job because I haven't been able to get enough money to pass the winter without hunger, but if I could do some hotel shows, or cabaret, or whatever, I would make a lot more and that would be probably enough to survive.

So if you guys can give some advice about what are the principal differences between stage and streets that would help me out a lot.

Can I take twice the time to make a street effect on the stage (talking more and so on)?

And what effects (even silly ones) work on stage and probably would die on the streets?

    thanks a lot,

    Martin

I think the biggest difference is that your audience is already there. No crowd gather. Big difference haha!

That being said, because they're not there because they're...drawn to you I guess, they can be harder to impress. Or it can be quite the opposite.

You can take time, depending on what you're doing. But don't drag your show out. There's nothing worse than a really bloody long theatre/stage show.
