Booking Theatres?

Hey,
My partner and I are talking about booking a theatre tour. What is the best way to book a theatre? It seems often they want you to rent the space instead of split the door. How do you do it? Any information will be usefull. Thanks!

The best way I've found to book a theater is (you may be surprised to hear this)

Call the theater and ask them. There are many theaters listed in your local yellow pages.
