    Faneuil Hall Audition

Just got back from the auditions for Faneuil Hall - It was horrible, that was the worst performance ever, even I was bored of myself. I think it was because I didnt eat anything today. So my advice to anyone auditioning for something - or jsut doing a show- never do it on an empty stomach- and if your not a morning person- avoid mornings.

    Alex,

I'm sorry you had a tough time. It's really nervewracking to go through an audition. Even the veteran acts with 20 years of experience have bad days and get nervous at auditions. It never gets easy.

My advice to you is to keep getting on stage as often as possible and keep working your show. Videotape it whenever you can and watch the tape over and over. Study your mistakes and address them before you develop bad habits. It's all about gaining experience. Think quantity. The more shows you do, the more you will learn.

Don't get discouraged. You're young. I had been juggling for about 4 years before I hit the streets when I was 22. I had a few years of other performing experience as well. I did a solid year at Harvard Square (about 200 shows) before I tried out at Faneuil Hall.

I commend you for getting up on that stage today. It is NOT an easy thing to do.

Keep working on it. It does get better!

Thanks Jim - I just know that what I did there was not the same quality show that I usually do - Im just mad that it was ruined- I figured I probably wouldnt get in - I just wish I had left a better impression - also to the diabloist that I said had nice hair - I really thought he had nice hair- it was awesome... I wish I could have stayed for your act but I had to run - I saw you doing two diablos to warm up - very impressive....
