I’m looking for a way to successfully pass the hat while working as a stilt walker. If it’s feasible I want to work silent some or all of the time. How do I convey the hat line? I'll be working alone so if I drop a hat it’s going to be tricky picking it up to move while I’m on stilts. Any suggestions?

Movable Hat
It seems as though you need a hat/money storage that moves with you:

Dont know what your costume is but you could incorperate this into it stylistically or theme-wise.
Pyramid like tripod on wheels, you can drag along or even have as a remote? - Hat ontop.
You could have the hat actually attached to your costume - hanging from neck, waist (anywhere)

Hat location
The Peace Elephant is a stilt-walker I saw in Austria last year - he had a bag on either side of his large elephant body with a dollar sign/euro sign and a picture of a camera on it - it was very clear that it meant "Take my picture and please tip me"
I think people might enjoy tipping you into bags on your stilt pants, or big pockets. You could even have different levels - "Pocket Change", (something funny), "Noblesse Oblige" - those aren't the right names, but you know what I mean - that certain pockets are for certain levels of tip!Comment
