good ending to a show

Hey everyone hopeing u can help me

i am trying to work a good finale for my magic show i think my last trick is a good one it builds suspense and has a bit of danger to it but the climax is poor and good knows we hate a poor climax i do the russian roulette trick with the cups and nail (3 cups one has a nail under it and i have to avoid the nail) as u can imagine the audience tend to want blood so was wondering if anyone can think of a good ending without me having to skewer myself.

If you are looking for stage blood or somthing of the sort then you should use cornsyrup and add some food coloring (lots of red and a little blue). It looks realy great but a little sticky. Just got done with Macbeth and we used buckets of the stuff each night. Hope that helps.

stage blood is a good idea but i'm looking for an actual ending for the trick that doesn't leave the audience on an anti climax

Explain -- what exactly are you doing iwth the cups and nail? What does the trick entail?

3 cups one has a nail sticking up under it i get a spectator to mix up the loction of the nail i turn around build up suspense talking about the danger of the trick and wham smash the first cup success no nail. more suspense building and wham 2nd cup i have survived the trick in tack and the nail is under the final cup. really good trick it has a beginning and a middle i just don't think it has an end to it any ideas?

Could you rig a fake nail-through-the-hand gag/blood and gore...

and have yourself get all cocky to the volunteer, about how you've done the trick so well, and lean on the table nonchalantly, [fake] stabbing your hand on the last cup. flailing and hilarity ensues.

...but that would introduce a new challenge (of the fake or retractable nail).

What if before you do the trick you have some one pic a card using a force and you try to find it, you can't and move on to the next trick. You do the whole nail and cup thing and then after you smash the first two cups you lift the last one and the card is under the cup peirced by the nail.

i've seen the same sort of trick done with baloons. It seemed to be a crowd pleaser. I heard a lot of GASPS. Incorporating deadly nails could be even gaspier.

I don't know how big the cups are, but you could combine the two ideas. You could lift the third cup to reveal a pierced (fake) hand holding the card. Explain to the audience that you bought the trick used.

a card reveal is not genius. it's the magician's fall back boring ending. Look at penn and teller who do 40 grusem tricks with a card reveal.

it would be better if you vanished a gerble earlier, tried to bring him back and it didn't work you were confused. Hold a volunteer's hand and smash the cups with that. then at the end, pick up the last cup and there's no nail. It's the gerbel.

upside down nails cups on trays on your head. some little kid has to hit the cups with a mallet possibly driving one into your skull. The mallet hurts, but the nail will kill. five cups would be great, because people will want to see you get hit a bunch.

on each cup you could do different gags or tricks.

the tray could get stuck to your head as if the nail went in.

red starts coming out of your mouth only to discover it's a mouth coil.

one cup could be full of bees.

the old break-away-mallet trick.

think man, think about what people want from a show. you've got one trick already picked out. Doing a lame run-of-the mill idea won't help you, it will just complete your show. If you come up with something brainiatic, you can perform in shows with the best magicians in the world, and you could... i'm tired of writing.

On the last cup reveal the nail has vanished, pour water in the cup, take a drink, and pull the nail out of your mouth. In fact, have it going through a fake tounge, then give it all to the voulenter to have as a keepsake.

When travelling, does the hive go as checked or carry on ? Will the Queen need her own seat? Will homeland sequrity require that all stingers be removed before flight?
