if you scroll down this thread, there are lots of recommendations.

I ended up buying oil lamp wicks and rolling them up. But I don't necessarily suggest doing what I do, because I'm a wanna-be hack.

...but there are plenty of recommendations at the beginning of the thread.
Well, maybe I WILL just keep telling myself that.

also does anyone have a video of fire eating, just to have a look?

I dunno what "DIY" is. I get 'em at a hardware store.

Do you remember the trick "Fire Alarm?" It's based on that... Needs a lot of control and some nerve... Since there is no way to know the profiiciency level, (or even age) here. I hesitate to reveal something more dangerous...

                        Understood.

I'm not familiar with "Fire Alarm".

If you're inclined to PM me, I'd love to know more about it.

                        Thanks.

[B]I'm no expert (considering I just started this thread, like, a few months ago), but I've come around to using Coleman fuel ...

Rachel, et al, Never let your torches burn dry, and never soak them up! When the fuel is gone, as you've learned, your equipment suffers... Stay focused and you will have a lower chance of getting burned. (It's always ready to bite you)
I quit using Coleman's and other "camp"fuels for a lot of reasons (read bad burns) including portability. Why lug a potentially explosive and spillable gallon of fuel around when you can just bring a couple of cans of Ronsonol fluid in your pocket, pour it into your soaking pan and go to work? Since it's also smokeless(nearly) it works well indoors and out...
