    Cruise Ships

So I just booked some cruise work, the first one is with Holland America, and I have no idea of what to expect. I have never even seen a cruise ship let alone been on one.
I read some other posts and was already aware of the passanger/crew issue. Its not contract questions that I have but just "whats it like".
If any one is interested/willing in writing down a few paragraphs about what to expect, look out for, be sure to bring or not to bring, etc... I would be very thankful.

The rooms tend to be on the small side. Get an outside cabin if you can, The small porthole really makes a difference, without one it's like you are in a cave with curtains on one wall. Keep the show as clean as you can. Remember the passenger comment cards are important, and negative ones can stop you from getting rebooked.

There is always a lot of food, and most ships have a casual dining option. This is preferable to eating in the dining room if you ask me. You don't have to dress up as much, or be stuck at a table with strangers who want to talk about the same things a thousand other strangers have wanted to talk to you about. Bring some bottled water and favorite snacks to keep in your cabin.

The ships are pretty stable but will rock in heavy seas. The ships will have anti sea sickness patches you can wear on your neck, but I wouldn't wear one. They can make you feel crappy and lethargic. Just tough it out and soon you will get used to it.
Cruises can be fun or really dull depending on what you like to do. I do well as long as I am on for less then a week. Any longer and I tend to go a little stir crazy.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any particular questions.

      One man's nightmare...

is another man's dream, I suppose.

I can't imagine a worse gig. There's no amount of money anyone could offer me that would even tempt me to set foot on one of those floating buffets. Salma Hayek could be waiting for me in the captain's boudoir suite wearing nothing but a smile and licking her lips, and I'd still say no.

Well, maybe I'd do it for Salma. One man's dream...

          Say what?

No, I thought the teddy bear was weird for bringing you.

But to each his own. If I can fantasize about Salma Hayek, you can fantasize about one of the Muppets. I wouldn't say no to a three-way with Salma and Miss Piggy, as long as she didn't bring Kermit the Frog. Yowzah!

Daily. I've a lot of Fridays to make up for.

Which ones do you find odious, so I may banish them prior to serving you?
