    Selling yourself to new media

This is a topic upon which I welcome any input.

I was contacted recently by a relatively large media production company with whom I have done some work in the past. Previously I've modelled/performed for internet advertisements for them.

They also work quite extensively with mobile phone service providers. This week they contacted me to talk about developing a series of physical comedy vignettes for video cell phones. While I find the concept inviting I am concerned about legal matters. Has anyone had experience in similar situations. I am especially curious about how one set their rate and whether or not residuals were involved.

Due to this being for a relatively new media market there aren't many conventions established like there are in the television/film/other markets. I want to ensure that I am adequately reimbursed for my performances, and that my face/routines don't start apearing on phones in Japan without me receiving payment. Does anyone have any input about how to construct a contract such as this?

The whole project is still in development, and may not go forward, but I'd like to have as full a conceptualization of the business relationship as possible so that I can steer the company towards a fair deal for both of us.

    Agent

An agent will be able to figure out how much money you can get for this. Contact an agent who deals with commercials and advertisments. I guess that's what I would do anyway.
    sounds like fun.. good luck
