The Boulder International Fringe Festival is an annual 12-day festival of
live performances including theatre, music, film, storytelling, digital media,
spoken word, dance, circus arts and visual arts.

Fringe promises to captivate the City of Boulder with an affordable,
accessible and breath-taking event that will vastly enhance the cultural life
and
community network through creative disciplines.

The 2005 Boulder Fringe will host over 70 artists, local and international,
presenting over 300 shows in twelve days at 30 venues - all within Boulder's
cultural corridor in the heart of downtown. The Boulder International Fringe
Festival is in service to the community, building bridges between audiences,
artists, businesses and civic organizations on a worldwide network.

For over 50 years International Fringe Festivals have been generating an
atmosphere of lively excitement and energy around the world that fully engages
the
community. Fringe organizations have spread like wild fire
throughout the globe since their inception in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947.

Hmm...Must be the first annual...International?

"presenting over 300 shows in twelve days at 30 venues" could be a problem for the authentic street performer.

Fringe festivals usually work like this.
You pay to get in.
They provide you a venue and take a cut from tickets to cover expenses.
Sometimes they provide tech and other times not.
What you get for your fee is inclusion in their marketing.
The organised ones also provide slots for further promotion re radio station interviews and sometimes TV.
They are an umbrella organisation that basically help with accom, venue, promotion
'Authentic' Street performers can choose to stretch themselves and do something either inside or at some prearranged outdoor venue.
A pure 100% authentic super saturated solution of street performer would have no interest in a fringe festival unless it was big enough to swell the streets enough to make it more worthwhile than normal.

Its not a street theatre festival.
It should however favorably impact on performance friendly people in public.

You seem a little disgruntled. I like that.
