    Performing Music

Does anyone have any ideas for where to get good music for a juggling act, like instrumentals, or other songs that fit an act(like juggling) without causing people to stop paying attention to you? Any help in this area, even specific songs, would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    You

The only person who can really help you with music choices is you. You have to find a music style that:
    a.) you like
b.) fits what you are trying to achieve.

Other people can suggest music to you, but unless you like it you are not going to click to it.

I suggest listening to music and listen to the rhythems created.

Steven actaully gave a great class at motionfest about using music for your routines and where your high and low points are and where to put your tricks...creating a graph almost like a seismograph.

The only thing I would say is find something with no words...as this will distract from them watching you if they like the song so much that they start to sing along.

Well obviously I make the final choice but input from everyone is great. And I know Steven must know alot about it, he has a beautiful song for his act. So input from anyone is great, about specific songs, or about performing to music, or creating an act to music. And I definatly agree with you Frisbee.
      Thanks all

Let the music choice influence your act. Once you find some piece that you like, go back to the act and rework it a bit so that it fits into the details of the music. Allow it be an iterative process.

It strictly depends on your taste and the venue where you wish to perform. Look at similar styles at the show location that may guide you towards a genre.

No solid answer on this one. Just start hunting...

Bring the act that you are working on with you this weekend, and we will see if we can help you pick out music for it.

My advice to any teen going to MIT/Harvard/whatever juggling club for the first time is to bring a juggling friend with you. It tends to feel less intimidating that way.

                  Good Luck!
