    Hat Lines and Hecklers

I am new to this site and I work with some of the people on Clearwater Beach. I have noticed that I have a problem of using others lines in my show. Out of respect for them I am wanting to come up with some new lines. What do you think of this for Heckelrs:

Ladies and Gentleman The Poster Child for Birht Control

Also Does anyone have funny Hat lines to Help people pay and pay more?

    Thanks

"Ladies and Gentlemen, If you have enjoyed the show, Put some money in the hat, If you haven't enjoyed the show, Put some money in the hat"

Emphasis the last "in the Hat"

I don't believe that any "line" is what inspires people to "pay". People either enjoy your act, or they don't. They respond to you - as a person or performer - or they don't. They feel generous, or they don't. No amount of cute & clever one-liners is going to make them cough up more cash.

Kudos to you for wanting to create new material instead of repeating the same old lines. I do believe that people respond to - and reward - originality.

"if i made you laugh, if i made you cry... if i made you scream with fear... please reach deep into your pockets and put a one or five dollar bill into my hat. if i happened to do something that OFFENDED you today - please write your complaint on the back of a twenty dollar bill - place it in my hat & I'LL NEVER DO IT AGAIN."

"ladies and gentlemen - please don't leave here this afternoon/morning/evening without doing your part to support quality live entertainment. if you enjoyed yourselves watching this show as much as i did doing the SHOW FOR YOU - it's been an experiance which can have no value placed on it. all i ask is for each of you to contribute what you can... one dollar, five dollars - perhaps even a ten. i do realize that there are some of you out there who cannot afford to contribute to this show today. it's okay. your smiles and applause are enough payment for me. you've been a fantastic audiance - give yourselves a round of applause. (turn to pick up hat) HOWEVER, the rest of you - OWE ME MONEY!"

            it works for me

You have to use a bad Thai accent for this .

2 dolla 2 dolla, me love you long time, 2 dolla!

            One of my favorites.

Your money speil can definately effect the amount of people who pay and how much they pay. There are still a lot of people who have never seen a street show and they need to be 'educated' a little as to it's worth.
In the past I've experimented just to see what happens, and trust me, if you just simply say thanks for watching I'd really appreciate it if you put somethin in my hat. A lot of people walk away without paying and the ones that do pay, don't pay that much. Of course it's very different at a busking festival, especially in Canada where I was surprised just how little you had to say about the money. A word of warning for all you canadians thinking of traveling elsewhere. Out of all the places I've performed, Canada by far has the most compliant, giving audiences. They're just sooo damn nice. They would clap at things no one had clapped for before, it was just too easy. Sometimes I felt that I could do any old shit and they'd just keep clapping.
Don't think it's going to be like that everywhere !
