Calling all street performers, buskers, jugglers, acrobats, mime artists, human statues, balloon modellers...
A fantastic new opportunity to show London your talents.
Can’t get a licence to perform on the Tube?
Can’t get a slot in Covent Garden?
Havering Council is launching an exciting new open air performance space in Romford Market.
Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday afternoon from October there will be busking slots available to show off your skills to an appreciative crowd at Romford’s new performance space.
Over the coming year Romford Performance Space will play host to a wide range of cultural activities from acrobats and musicians to cooking and crafts. This is your chance to add to the colour of Romford’s busy market and perform alongside local groups. The project is supported by the London Borough of Havering, which seeks to make Romford Market the Covent Garden of the east. It is hoped that by 2011 there will be a dedicated covered stage in the market for buskers and street performers.
But why not get involved from the start? Slots are available for new and seasoned street performers. Romford Performance Space provides the perfect location for you to showcase, polish or perfect your act in front of an appreciative audience.
There are no auditions, but performances will be evaluated and getting a regular slot is dependent on a successful first performance.
Performances are not paid (except for special events) and rely on the generosity of market visitors. It may be possible to sell CDs.
Performers must hold public liability insurance and a current CRB licence.
To apply or for further information please contact Romford Performance Space Programmer Giles Rowland (gilesrowland@googlemail.com). Feel free to send website or Myspace links, Youtube videos, reviews, photos or biographies so that we can see the full range of your talents.
