Paid Street Performers
We are hosting the 2009 Calgary Street Performers Festival August 1st and 2nd on the streets of Inglewood. The timing connects with the opening weekend of the Calgary Fringe Festival.
August 1 & 2nd, 2009 (long weekend in August)
Performers get a minimum 3-4 shows per day
We pay a guarantee fee of $500 (one performer act) and $1,000 (two performers act).
Performers traveling in from outside the province are eligible for a $500 travel/ accommodation allowance. Billeting with a local host is an option but is not guaranteed.
In addition, 100% of hat goes to the artist.
We are looking for 6 acts to perform on 2 separate pitches. Bonus if the performers are available to perform on Stephen Avenue in the days leading up the festival.
There is on-site storage for equipment.
We are working with the Winnipeg Fringe Festival and the Edmonton Fringe Festival to set up a tour if artists are interested.
For those not chosen as one of the 6 acts, there will be 2 additional pitches made available.
