Hi Guys
Im organizing a large visual art event themed on light in central London in a crypt on 4th sept. Yes a crypt if your not spooked out read on.
There will be 15 artist all using light or influenced in light with their work. displayed around a dark damp and very atmospheric space. This event has been my dream for a long time. The pv night will not be like any other. For starters not Private ! It will be a opening evening consisting of live entertainment with everyone welcome. For free fun night out. The exhibition is aimed at trying to get people that dont normally go to galleries to be interested in ours , by making it very different and fun.
The acts I want on the night are statues and light themed work , now unfortunately fire is out of the question as the owner wont even let me light candles so dont see them going for your fire performances ha ha.
I had the idea of jugglers with glowing objects or walk abouts in glowing costumes . Anything like that that uses light, as well as statues . Im not sure what kind of height you require to juggle this is a crypt so not very high ceilings. If you have any part of your costume or acts that involves light . I want to hear from you.
Im looking for a group of open minded people that would like to be involved in exchange I can offer you promotional advertisements on 20,000 flyers , banners displayed in London, website, press release etc.
I dont believe in anyone working for nothing, so will be able to make a cash contribution . This event will be a free event for the London community so please bare this in mind.
I cant afford to pay much as this is my idea I offered to sort out the entertainment myself and like most artist earn sod all for my work ha ha. Not sure what kind of fees you charge ,
Please anyone interest please contact me with a idea of what you could do and how much.
so far I have a few companies on board like Mathmos , sureleight they make el wire, glowsafe and I hope a few more including the possibility of the art council and Camden borough council..
look forward to hearing from you.
