Operations Production Manager/Technical Director
Dragone City of Dreams
Job Summary
Lead the Technical team and establish safe and consistent operations of all show operations and systems.
The Operations Production Manager/Technical Director will be required to manage the day to day operation of the City Of Dreams technical operations during the creation and operation of the show, including;
1) theatrical systems conformity supervision, during the construction of the Theatre
2) show load-in integration and creation,
3) operation.
The Operations Production Manager/Technical Director will report operationally to the Company Manager, and functionally to the Technical Director, Dragone.
Duties and Responsibilities
Theatrical Systems Construction Supervision
o Control quality of technical systems through commissioning
o Control quality of base building theatrical infrastructure
o Assist in outfitting and purchasing equipment for all technical areas
o Oversee installation of all shop equipment for all areas
o Assist as required in research and oversight of show related technical development
Load In and Creation
Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process of all heads of departments, and all technicians
Assist Heads of Departments with selection, scheduling and rotation of technical crew.
Oversee technical budget
With Creators and Production staff, create strategy and planning of technical criteria and timing for load-in and creative/rehearsal process.
Oversees strategy and planning for aquatic installation, aquatic security, and training.
Operation
Coordinate the recruitment and hiring process of all heads of departments, and all technicians
Assist Heads of Departments with selection, scheduling and rotation of technical crew.
Oversee the technical budget
Lead the Technical Team through programs, interaction and an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes costs
Manage and direct the Technical Team and Departments, manage staff performance, hire new employees, create and manage budgets and capitol expenditures in conjunction with the Company Manager.
Create and evolve training and backup plans for all systems and personnel in the Departments, as well as coordinate these backup plans with other departments and Stage Management.
Oversee the technical operations budget, supply, replacement, and inventory of consumables with heads of departments.
Supervise technical purchasing and tracking with the purchasing agent.
Oversee all security, maintenance, and safety procedures and training.
Develop a long-term supervision plan for installation and equipment inspection.
Manage all maintenance operations for the successful operation of all facility equipment and theatre systems.
Within the entire Technical team, evolve safety programmes.
Adhere to and enforce Safety policies
With the entire Technical Team, establish emergency procedures for show systems, and personnel safety and rescue. Ensure the Departments are trained and rehearsed in these procedures.
Work with Creation and Artistic regarding changes, development and evolution of the show
Support the artists at all times by proactive planning regarding interaction with show elements.
Miscellaneous
Work an extended schedule throughout the load-in and rehearsal periods.
Coordinates offstage and off-site storage through load-in, rehearsals and performances.
Requirements
Education
University Degree or College and related experience
Experience
10 Plus years experience with large shows, creation of new shows and demonstrated leadership of large Technical teams. Budgeting.
Other Skills
Experience with a wide variety of modern theatrical equipment.
The ability to supervise personnel and to perform under pressure.
The ability to create, implement and work within fiscal budgets
The ability to be a team builder and to lead strong teams
Computer literacy as it pertains to PC based systems and common office software.
Ability to swim - high level of comfort in water.
Ability to train and certify as a SCUBA DIVER, if required
Willingness to learn or update lifesaving skills.
Willingness to learn and become CPR trained.
Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to water.
Willingness to define, practice and conform to safe working procedures.
Ability to speak and understand English language.
Able to Relocate to Macau China
